A little help getting connected.

CamWeave turns a spare iPhone into a live camera. CamWeave Viewer and CamWeave Web bring multiple cameras together.

Start on your home Wi-Fi

1. Open CamWeave Camera on the camera iPhone, allow camera and local-network access, then start streaming.
2. Keep the camera app open and the phone unlocked. Use the app’s dim-screen mode to reduce screen brightness.
3. Copy the complete viewing link, including its access code, into a browser or add it in CamWeave Viewer.

Connect from away

Connect the camera and viewing device through the same permitted private network. Tailscale is the tested iOS setup. Use the camera’s reachable private hostname or address. If an IP changes, update the saved link. Do not expose the camera port on your router.

View several cameras

The free iOS Viewer displays up to four live cameras at once. The open-source Web app runs on your own computer or VPS and works in desktop and mobile browsers. The server needs a network route to each camera.

A dark picture?

Try automatic exposure first. In a single camera’s settings you can select manual ISO, adjust it and apply settings. Higher ISO increases brightness and noise. ISO controls require Camera build 9 or later. The camera still needs some ambient light.

Connection interrupted?

Check that the camera app is open, the iPhone is unlocked, local-network permission is enabled, and both devices have the required network connection. Copy the latest full viewing link if you changed the access code. Guest Wi-Fi isolation may prevent devices from communicating.

Contact support

Open a support issue on GitHub with your app name, version, device model and a description of the problem. Do not post camera viewing links, access codes, passwords or footage. For suspected vulnerabilities, follow the repository’s security reporting guidance.
